What are Subscription Advocacy Services?

The First Step: Meet You Where You Are

We start side-by-side with a review of all relevant history, including your child’s school records (IEPs, 504 Plans, FBAs, BIPs, school evaluations and testing, grades and progress reports, disciplinary actions, and outside evaluations) to collect vital information. This helps us understand your child’s profile, what level of support your child is currently getting, and how we can make positive, effective progress.

The Second Step: Create a Strategy

We project what outcomes we might be able to get based on applicable laws during a legal review, and with your input, I develop a strategy in our Case Summary — a living document that can be adapted as we move through the process and observe changes in data, evidence, and the law. The essential creation of a strategy gives us a starting point and roadmap to move forward.

From there...

We work together on an ongoing basis to implement your strategy and get results for your child through subscription advocacy services. The subscription service provides you with collaborative reviews of information, discussions to keep our strategic plan on track, and unlimited access to me for unplanned issues via email or phone.

01.

Quarterly Check In

Once per quarter, we will review and discuss school documents, evaluations, tests, agency reports, and other communication plus your child’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and 504 documents (data).

Working side-by-side ensures that you will always have a current understanding of implementation goals, future strategy, and how to measure success.

02.

Communication and Preparation

Based on our strategy, I help strategically prepare you for any communication with the school and outside parties, and for initial and subsequent school eligibility meetings, including transition and 3-year re-evaluation. Together, we make sure you enter the meeting room prepared to support your position and get your desired outcome as timely as possible.

You’ll also be prepared to address potential counter positions that may arise from other team members to keep you confident and in control.

If we decide it’s in your child’s best interest, I can be in the room with you for an additional fee.

03.

Advocate-On-Call: Response to Unplanned Issues

Get unlimited telephone or email communication with me with a 24-hour notice. Call or email me for support when there is a need to react quickly to either demand action or prevent action by the school or a third party, or if there is a need to comply in an unexpectedly short timeframe to act or respond on your part.
